Bugatti Veyron Super Sport: velocità massima limitata

La lotta per la produzione dell’auto stradale più veloce è serrata, ma stabilmente nelle mani della Bugatti. Dopo un breve intervallo in cui il record è stato posseduto dall’americana Shelby SSC Ultimate Aero, i franco-tedeschi come è noto hanno riconquistato il titolo grazie alla Bugatti Veyron Super Sport con la velocità massima di 434 km/h (il record è stato omologato a 431 km/h). L’auto è stata presentata ufficialmente al mondo nel corso del Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Leggendo i dettagli tecnici, però, si scopre che la stupefacente velocità della Veyron è stata limitata per la vendita.

Chi la comprerà, infatti, dovrà accontentarsi di poterla spingere soltanto fino a 415 km/h, 16 in meno rispetto alla velocità massima ufficiale: la sicurezza innanzitutto. Sempre abbastanza, in ogni caso, per battere agevolmente qualunque cowboy che si dovesse presentare con una Shelby, dato che quest’ultima non è riuscita ad andare oltre i 412 km/h.

Prestazioni. L’accelerazione da 0 a 100 km/h impiega meno tempo di quello che una persona impiega a rispondere al telefono: 2,5 secondi. Sempre da ferma, grazie al suo motore 8.0 W16 da 1.200cv, continuando ad accelerare raggiunge i 200 km/h in 7,3 secondi e i 300 km/h in 16,7 secondi. Purtroppo non è molto amica dell’ambiente: 539 g/km di CO2 emessi nel ciclo combinato.
